Facebook at Congress, Day 2: Watch Zuckerberg field questions on regulation, privacy, and elections

Mark Zuckerberg faces a second round of questioning from Congress Wednesday, with lawmakers challenging him on Facebook’s privacy scandals, disinformation issues, and the role the platform plays in elections.

Wednesday’s hearing of the House Energy and Commerce Committee comes the day after Zuckerberg endured more than five hours of questions from senators in the Judiciary and Commerce Committees.

That hearing focused on the Cambridge Analytica scandal, in which a Republican-backed political strategy firm accessed data from up to 87 million unwitting Facebook users. Zuckerberg was also asked about the role Facebook played in attempts by the Russian government to interfere in the 2016 presidential election.

During the hearing, senators pressed Zuckerberg on the nature of privacy in the digital age, whether Facebook is a monopoly, and proposed regulations to better protect consumer data.
