Ahead of tomorrow’s big Apple event, a new report has come out to recap the features that will and will not be included in the new iPhone models.
Apple’s new iPhones will keep the same design and notch as the iPhone XS and XR, according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo (via MacRumors), but new colors are expected. He’s likely referring to new colors for the iPhone XR successor, as rumors have said that at least a new green color is in the works for that phone.
This report claims that Apple’s new iPhones may not support the reverse wireless charging feature that’s previously been rumored for them. This feature, which would let you charge your AirPods and Apple Watch by placing them on the back of your iPhone, may be dropped “because the charging efficiency may not meet Apple’s requirements,” Kuo says.
Kuo also suggests that the new phones will still include a Lightning port, but that the iPhone XS and XS Max follow-ups will ship with an 18W power adapter with a USB-C connector. The iPhone XR successor will reportedly stick with a 5W power adapter with USB-A connector.
It’s said that all three 2019 iPhone models will include ultra-wideband support, which will result in better indoor navigation and object tracking support, like for that rumored Tile-like Apple tracking device. And finally, today’s report says that the iPhone XS and XS Max successors will have three rear cameras, with the third camera rumored to be a wide angle cam.
Apple is hosting its iPhone event tomorrow, September 10, starting at 10:00 am PT/1:00 pm ET. Are you looking forward to the new iPhones?
