As is expected from a preview build, it comes with some known
issues apart from the new features. The known issues include
issues with the Active Directory Domain Controllers which might
not be upgraded correctly after installing the preview build.
As a precaution, Microsoft requests users to first back up any
Active Directory Domain Controllers before starting to download
the new preview build.
Users could also notice crashes for the MMC, if they try to
edit or create AppLocker. The AppX database is also expected to
contain corrupt entries after installation of the build.
Microsoft wants the insiders to install the latest preview
build for Windows Server 2019 and provide the company with the
feedback for it to fix the known issues and bugs found during
testing before it decides to roll out the Windows Server build
to the general public.
The build is expected to be available for download until
December 14, after which the users will not be able to download
it. As this is a preview build, it is always advisable to first
go through the list of known issues before taking the download.
The new preview build 17666 can be downloaded from the
Microsoft’s website here and is
available for users who have enrolled themselves in the Insider
program to test early builds.
