— Pop culture toy company Funko will welcome Jennifer Fall Jung as its new chief financial officer in August. She succeeds Russell Nickel, who announced his departure in April. Fall Jung was most recently at Gap, where she spent more than two decades and rose the ranks to senior vice president of corporate finance and investor relations.
“I was drawn to Funko for its fast and forward-thinking approach to pop culture, which has contributed to the company having one of the largest portfolios in the collectibles industry,” Fall Jung said in a statement. “It’s clear that the Funko brand is resonating with consumers globally, and I look forward to working closely with this creatively talented team to enhance Funko’s international partnerships, operations and engagement, as well as to deliver sustainable shareholder value creation.”
Funko, based in Everett, Wash., has plenty to celebrate financially. Since the start of the year, the company’s stock has risen nearly 70 percent on improved revenues and profits.
— Seattle-based pet-sitting platform Rover hired Bill Kong as its first-ever chief marketing officer. Kong has more than 20 years of marketing experience and was most recently chief growth officer at Vital Choice Wild Seafood and Organic. He also worked at CommerceHub, Sears, Drugstore.com, AudienceScience, and Amazon.
“Bill embodies Rover’s values and brings a wealth of experience from across the technology and e-commerce sectors to the team at a pivotal moment. We are thrilled to have him leading Rover’s US branding and marketing efforts,” Rover COO Brent Turner said in a statement. “As Rover continues to evolve and expand service offerings, we are confident that Bill’s innovative thinking and executive leadership experience will be a valuable asset to the team.”
— Data firm Koverse appointed Stephen Gallagher as vice president of sales. Gallagher was most recently a sales executive at cybersecurity tech firm Crowdstrike and previously worked at Intel, Dell, HP, BEA Systems and Concur.
“We are excited to have Stephen lead customer acquisition at Koverse, which is seeing accelerating demand for our products and services,” Koverse CEO Jon Matsuo said in a statement. “Stephen brings invaluable experience as both a sales professional and as a leader building high-performing teams at market-leading companies.”
Koverse was started in Seattle by former U.S. National Security Administration (NSA) engineers who helped to create Apache Accumulo, a powerful database engine. Earlier this year, the company partnered with PwC on a product that helps companies spot risks in supply chains.
— Marketing tech company BrandVerity hired Jennifer Agustin as vice president of marketing.
Agustin was formerly vice president of marketing at DreamBox Learning, the maker of online education programs for K-12 students. She also served as a director at Bizo, a business-to-business marketing firm that was acquired by LinkedIn.
— Real estate and investment management firm JLL named Chris Hughes as brokerage lead for Seattle’s Eastside.
