Up until this point, VR headsets haven’t exactly taken the gaming world by storm with respect to sales. Despite the masses not yet getting on the VR bandwagon, Sony has managed to sell quite a few PlayStation VR headsets around the world thanks in part of aggressive price discounts and a bold move last Christmas to allow some PS4 owners to order up a headset with games and pay for them only if they liked it.
Sony has announced that globally it has now sold over 3 million PS VR units. Along with the 3 million headsets sold, Sony has also moved 21.9 million PS VR games and experiences. To celebrate the milestone Sony is announcing the launch of a pair of new PS VR games that will land this fall. One of the games is a VR boxing experience that is based on the Creed movie that fits into the Rocky universe. The game is called Creed: Rise to Glory and will launch on PS VR systems September 25 with pre-orders underway now.
The other game is called Evasion and it is a sci-fi shooter that allows players to play as one of four unique hero classes as part of a special operations team. Evasion launches on October 9. Along with those two new games heading to the virtual reality headset, Sony is also talking up the ten most played games on the platform.

Sony has a Totally Digital Sale running at the PlayStation Store that will end on August 28 and part of that sale is offering pre-order discounts on new PS VR games of up to 20%. Sony has a full list of games that are being offered in the sale here. News of 3 million PS VR headsets sold comes right on the heels of Sony announcing that it had sold 500 million PS4 game consoles since launch.
