Samsung Galaxy S20+ shown off in clear hands-on photos

Samsung Galaxy S20+ hands-on photos

Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event is still one month away, but the rumor mill is revealing one of the handsets that’ll be announced there today.

Photos of the Samsung Galaxy S20+ have leaked out. The images shared by XDA-Developers give us a clear look at both the front and back of the Galaxy S20+ and show us the boot screen as well, confirming the rumors that Samsung will name its new flagships “S20” rather than “S11”.

On the front of the phone are slim bezels with a slight chin. The source of the photos says that the display is less curved than in previous models and that it felt flat. There’s an Infinity O hole-punch for the selfie camera centered at the top of the screen, and it’s smaller than the hole-punch on the Galaxy Note 10.

Around back is a rectangular camera bump with four cameras. That camera array is said to include a 12MP 1.8μm main sensor along with ultra-wide, telephoto, and possible macro cams. There’s a microphone and a flash in that camera bump, too. And at least on this particular phone, there’s a sticker that says “Do not leak info”. So much for that.

The right side of the phone is home to volume and power buttons. The Galaxy S20+ does not have a Bixby button like previous models.

Finally, today’s report says that this Galaxy S20+ will be made in 4G and 5G models, but that the U.S. may only get the 5G version. It’s expected to include a Snapdragon 865 processor, which is Qualcomm’s flagship SoC.

Just like with Samsung’s other recent Galaxy S flagships, this Galaxy S20+ will probably be available on all four major U.S. carriers. We’re also expecting three different versions of the S20 this year just like we got three S10 models last year, but things are said to be a bit different this time. While the Galaxy S10+ was the top-end S10 model, this Galaxy S20+ is expected to be the middle device with a Galaxy S20 as the entry-level version of the group and a Galaxy S20 Ultra being the top-end.

What do you think of this leaked Galaxy S20+?
