Days after a rumor claimed that we could meet the Galaxy Note 9 on August 9th, a new leak has surfaced that may be giving us an early peek at Samsung’s next big thing.
Renders that claim to show the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 have been shared by OnLeaks and 91mobiles. Keep in mind that these are not Samsung-made images, but instead are renders based on factory CADs.
According to these leaked renders, the design of the Galaxy Note 9 won’t be all that different from the Galaxy Note 8. We can see a large Infinity Display with slim bezels at the top and bottom, and on the bottom there’s a USB-C port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and an S Pen stylus.
Around back we can see a horizontal dual camera setup and one of the few major changes from the Note 8 to the Note 9: a fingerprint reader that’s below the dual rear camera setup rather than to the right of it. Also of note is that there are volume and power buttons on the left side of the phone and a Bixby button on the right.
Finally, today’s leak claims that the Galaxy Note 9 will be slightly thicker than its predecessor (8.8mm vs 8.6mm) but retain the 6.3-inch screen size.
The Note 9 sounds like it’ll be a similar upgrade to the Note 8 as the Galaxy S9 was to the Galaxy S8. The S9 kept a similar design but a new fingerprint reader placement while also getting some internal upgrades. It’s rumored that the Note 9 will get a Snapdragon 845 processor, which would be an upgrade from the Note 8’s Snapdragon 835 chipset, as well as some camera upgrades.
What do you think of these leaked renders? Will you be interested in the Note 9 if these rumors hold true?
