Redout for Switch launches May 14

The Switch version of Redout, which was announced in January 2017, will finally launch via the Nintendo eShop on May 14, developer 34BigThings announced.

Redout for Switch will feature all of its previously released downloadable content packs for a total of 60 tracks over 12 environments, 28 vehicles, 11 event types, more than 100 events in Career Mode, hundreds of vehicle customization liveries, and more.

“We are very, very happy to release Redout on Switch,” 34BigThings CEO Valerio Di Donato said in a press release. “Porting the game to Nintendo’s console has been a bumpy road filled with technical challenges, and we are proud to have come out on top of them to deliver fans what they have been asking. In the last six months, fans have been asking us daily with great concern whether the port to Switch had been canceled. We are thrilled to show them that it never was. Not only that, this version is the most complete version of Redout we ever made and it will be a major milestone for the entire genre.”

Di Donato continued, “[Publisher] Nicalis’ support has been crucial in accomplishing this port, and we are honored to have worked alongside a group of veterans of the industry such as them. We hope that this collaboration will develop further, tying a stronger bond between us.”

Lead game designer Giuseppe Enrico added, “It is truly a lot of content. It is the result of two years of further development, where we designed and created more track elements to build even more challenging and fun courses for players to race on. It is our proudest achievement, and we are excited that fans will be able to enjoy Redout on a new platform.”

Redout is available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
