The BACtrack C6 works like your run-of-the-mill breathalyzer, but is only 2 ounces (57 grams) and 22.2 inches (5.59 centimeters) in length. It maintains that it is the “smallest police-grade alcohol tester ever created”. The device uses a “BluFire Fuel Cell Sensor” to determine a user’s blood alcohol concentration (BAC). The user can receive their results on the device’s OLED screen or the BACtrack app via Bluetooth. The BACtrack C6 will also estimate when a user’s BAC will be back to 0.00%. If you need to get somewhere before your alcohol levels are down, you can call an Uber directly from the BACtrack app, which is a nice touch.
The biggest question, of course, is whether the device is accurate. The BACtrack C6 claims to use the same “police-grade technology” that is used by hospitals and law enforcement. Most of the reviewers seemed to be pleased with the accuracy of the device– 74% of reviewers gave the product 5 stars. A handful of reviewers argued that the device gave different readings between 20-30 second intervals, but this could potentially be attributed to a number of factors. The biggest downside to the BACtrack C6 is that it is not rechargeable and requires a AAA battery.
Many other Amazon deals will also be available this holiday season. Amazon has not yet released information about its Black Friday deals, but there are currently a number of deeply discounted products available. For example, the Fire HD 10 tablet with Alexa Hands-Free is $99 ($50 off) and the second generation Echo Show is $179.99 ($50 off). Amazon also recently offered free shipping with no minimum purchase to anyone in the United States.
Even though the BACtrack C6 Keychain Breathalyzer is a neat device, which you can purchase direct from Amazon right here, please never drink and drive. It is illegal to drive a vehicle in the United States if your BAC is 0.08% or higher. Stay safe!
