AndroidTechNews.C0m – Talk of new NVIDIA Turing GPUs has left many gamers positively frothing over the last month with an alleged GeForce GTX 2060 5GB turning up on 3DMark giving us something to salivate over. A new rumor is now making the rounds that has to do with a forthcoming GeForce RTX 2070, and this card sounds like a beast with a launch date tipped for some time in September. The specs leak for the RTX 2070 will have some reaching for wallets in preparation; this card is tipped to have 2304 CUDA cores and 8GB of GDDR6 RAM.
Those 2304 CUDA cores are packed into 18 SMs according to the leak. The tidbit in the leak about 8GB of GDDR6 is a nice surprise; previous leaks have tipped this card to come with only 7GB of GDDR6. The 8GB of RAM rumor has been cited at multiple sources, which doesn’t make it true, but does make it more likely.
The gang over at WCCFTech has speculated that the RTX 2070 will have 256-bit GDDR6 memory interface giving 448GB/s of bandwidth. One question mark on that bandwidth guesstimate is which type of GDDR6 NVIDIA will opt for. To get the 448GB/s of bandwidth NVIDIA would need to use 14gbps memory; if it opts for 12gbps GDDR6, the memory bandwidth would be 384GB/s.
This leak also tips that the price for the RTX 2070 will be somewhere around the $400 realm. Performance is tipped to be about 40% faster than the old GeForce GTX 1070. Right above the RTX 2070, the RTX 2080 is expected to sit carrying a price of $500 to $700 and packing performance estimated at 50% faster than the GeForce GTX 1080.
The alleged GeForce GTX 2060 that turned up in the benchmark leak mentioned before is tipped at a $200 to $300 price in the United States. For the price, if the 15,894 score in 3DMark Fire Strike benchmark is accurate, this will be a great thing for gamers who want performance without shelling out big money. There is another card expected in the new line called the GTX 2050 promising performance 50% faster than the GeForce GTX 1050 Ti and selling for an imminently reasonable price of $100 to $200.
