Qualcomm is betting big on Snapdragon processor for Windows 10
on ARM project. At Computex, the chipmaker unveiled the
Snapdragon 850 exclusively for Always Connected PCs. 850 is
separate from the 845 as it has been optimized for use with
Windows PCs.

While the latest Snapdragon 850 processor offers a clock speed
of up to 2.96GHz, the next-gen chipset is reportedly going to
boost the performance of the ARM PCs.

The first generation of Qualcomm-powered laptops shared the
Snapdragon 835 with Android phones, although the processor was
modified, the performance was still not up to the mark.

A report today shed light on Snapdragon 1000, Qualcomm’s
next-gen processor for Windows 10 devices, reportedly codenamed
SDM1000. The report adds that Qualcomm is offering up to 
16GB LPDDR4X RAM and two 128GB UFS 2.1 modules for the
developer platform.

“Qualcomm’s next Windows 10 on ARM chip is internally called
SDM1000. Dev platform w/ max 16GB RAM, 2x128GB UFS. SoC
apparently has package size of ~20x15mm. May be first socketed
ARM-SoC in consumer space. All of this means one thing: massive
