You’ll soon have another streaming service tempting you to sign up.
NBC says Peacock will launch on April 15th for Comcast Xfinity X1 and Flex customers, and everyone else will get access on July 15th. Peacock is NBC’s new streaming service that’ll offer more than 600 movies and 400 series as well as live and on-demand content that includes news, sports, late night, and reality.
Some of the shows that’ll be available through Peacock include 30 Rock, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Parks and Recreation, Will & Grace, Cheers, House, Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Parenthood, Downton Abbey, Married…With Children, Saturday Night Live, and The Office. Peacock will also be home to shows like Law and Order, Law and Order: SVU, Law and Order: Criminal Intent, Chicago Fire, Chicago P.D., Chicago Med, and Two and a Half Men.
In addition to all those popular TV shows, Peacock will have original content from Kevin Hart’s Laugh Out Loud network and a show called Girls5Eva produced by Tina Fey.
Sports will play a major part of Peacock, too, with the service offering three daily shows for the Tokyo Olympics in 2020. Starting in August 2020, Peacock will offer 2,000 hours of Premier League soccer coverage, including more than 140 matches that aren’t available on TV, and the Ryder Cup golf tournament will be shown in September 2020.
Other notable content coming to Peacock include movies such as American Pie, E.T. The Extra Terrestrial, Fast & Furious, The Breakfast Club, Meet the Parents, and Shrek. There will be kids content as well, and NBC says that it plans to show late night talk shows The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Late Night with Seth Meyers early on Peacock, with the former starting at 8:00 pm ET and the latter at 9:00 pm ET.
And now the important question: How much will it cost? Peacock Free will be available as a free, ad-supported option that includes next-day access to current seasons of freshman broadcast series, complete classic series, and curated news and sports programming including the Olympics.
Peacock Premium will cost $4.99 per month on mobile and web devices and will be bundled at no additional cost to Comcast and Cox subscribers. This ad-supported option will include full season original shows and tent-pole series, early access to late night shows, and additional sports like the Premier League for a total of more than 15,000 hours of content.
If you’d prefer an ad-free viewing experience, you’ll be able to pay an additional $5.00 per month.
