Logitech is promising to deliver the performance of a wired mouse with all the convenience of a wireless mouse — all for around $60. While might sound a little too good to be true, Logitech says that it has delivered with the G305 Lightspeed mouse.
Backed by Logitech’s Lightspeed wireless technology and a high-performance (HERO) sensor, the G305 is said to be faster than “most” wired gaming mice on the market while delivering 10 times the power efficiency of the company’s previous generation mice. If you recall, the HERO sensor is using in Logitech’s top-of-the-line gaming mouse that are much more expensive.
When it comes to performance, Logitech says that the G305 offers a 1ms report rate and accuracy of 400 inches-per-second. We should note that you can increase the report rate to 8ms in Endurance mode to improve battery life. As for sensitivity, Logitech boasts a rate of 12,000 dots per inch.
The cleanly styled mouse features six programmable buttons and connects to your PC with one of Logitech’s low-profile USB nano receivers, which or course stows inside the mouse for safe keeping when traveling. The G305 gets its power from a single AA battery, which Logitech says is good for up to 250 hours of gaming. When switched to the aforementioned Endurance mode, battery life jumps to an admirable 9 months.
The G305 Lightspeed mouse will be available later this month either direct from Logitech or via one of the company’s many retail partners priced at $59.99.
