Hey, college grads, Bill Gates wanted to offer his congratulations on your achievement by giving you all a gift. Sorry, he’s not Oprah, so you don’t get a car, and you don’t get a car, and … but you all get a book!

It’s not just any book. “Factfulness” by Hans Rosling is Gates’s favorite book of the year and “one of the most important books” the Microsoft co-founder and billionaire philanthropist has ever read. Gates called it “an indispensable guide to thinking clearly about the world” in a blurb on Amazon.

In a post on his Gates Notes blog, Gates said that books are his go-to gift, and that his “wish for [grads] at this special time is to learn to think, and act, factfully.”

He previously reviewed the book here and his wife Melinda Gates is also a big fan. Her blurb on Amazon reads: “Hans Rosling tells the story of ‘the secret silent miracle of human progress’ as only he can. But ‘Factfulness’ does much more than that. It also explains why progress is so often secret and silent and teaches readers how to see it clearly.”

Those wishing to receive “Factfulness” in e-book form must be recipients of an associate’s, bachelor’s, or post-graduate degree from an accredited college or university in the United States. You have to become a Gates Notes Insider to be able to log in and download the book.

The free download started Tuesday morning and will be available for two or three days.
