Then, save the file using name disableupdates.reg and in save as type option, choose All files. If you have already had the file, click twice on the file to use it. If the Registry Editor window opens, select Yes to insert disableupdates.reg file on your own Registry Editor.

2. Turn off the Auto Update Feature Using Preferences

Before you go for this to turn off the auto update feature, make sure your computer is connected to Internet. After your computer has connected to Internet, open the Adobe program. For example, Adobe Acrobat > then click Help > Check for Updates.

Wait until the Update checking done, and then you will see Adobe Updater window. Then, click Preferences, If Adobe Updater Preferences window opens, clear the checklist on Automatically check for Adobe Products. To save the setting, click OK.

3. Turn off Auto Updater through Task Manager

If the two ways above do not work properly, you can use this way. You just need to change the extension of Adobe Application Updates by rename the file. Firstly, you should open the Adobe Application location by opening the Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc) > open Processes tab > right-click on AAM Updates Notifier.exe > Open File Location.

After it, the Adobe Application Update will be opened. Secondly, you need to change the extension on AAM Updates Notifier.exe become AAM Updates Notifier. In order to change the extension, you should open the file extension on your Windows. If warning window appears, click Yes to continue the process.

4. Close Adobe Application or AAM Update Notifier on Window

After you change the extension file of the Adobe Application update, now, you should close AAM Update Notifier, then re-open  Task Manager > Processes > right click on AAM Updates Notifier.exe > then click on End Process. After that, there will be a warning when you end the process. You just need to click the End Process button, and continue closing AAM Update Notifier.
