How to Change Windows 10 Time and Date

1. Change Time and Date in Control Panel

Traditionally, the date and time in Windows 10 can be configured through the classic Control Panel. Microsoft is merging the options of Control Panel with Settings. But, the options of it are still accessible and can be used. Remember, before you change the time and date in Control Panel, you must be signed as Administrator on your computer.

To set the time and date using this way, you need to click the bottom right clock icon on the desktop. Then, click Change date and time settings in the pop-up of small window. When the Date and Time window opens, click Change date and time to continue.

For your information, you may also follow the path of control panel/clock region/date and time, and language in order to open the above-mentioned window. After the Date and Time Settings window is open, you can change date and time which is suitable. Then, click on OK button to confirm the changes.

2. Change Time and Date in PC Settings

The second way you can do to change Windows 10 time and date is by accessing PC settings. First, open the PC settings on your computer. Second, click on Time and Language under the Network option. Then, click on Change button on the right to move on. After that, you can modify date and time, and click on Change to save the changes.

3. Change Time and Date using Command Prompt

To change time and date in Windows 10 by using the command prompt, you should do several steps. The first thing you should do is open an elevated command prompt. To view the current date, type this command or copy paste it:

date /t

In order to see the current time, you need to type or copy paste the command:

time /t

If you want to set a new date, execute the command below

date MM/DD/YYYY

The arguments are as following explanation:

MM is the month of the year, e.g. 07 while DD is for the day of the month, for example 30. And YYYY is the year, for example 2018. Then, the command will be:

date 07/30/2018

In order to set the new time, execute the command below

time HH:MM

The arguments are as following explanation:

HH are the hours, for example 08. While MM are the minutes, such as 25. Then, the command will be:

time 08:25

After that, close the Command Prompt window after you save the changes.
