We’re not ready for summer to end, so we are squeezing in one last party.
GeekWire Sounders Day is taking place Wednesday evening, and below is everything you need to know if you are joining our crew of 400 geeks on one of the most spectacular rooftop decks in the city. And there’s good news ahead for fellow tailgaters: Our meteorologist friends are predicting a return of decent weather on Wednesday afternoon.
Sounders Day location: The amazing rooftop deck at Qualtrics, located at 505 1st Avenue South in Seattle’s Pioneer Square neighborhood.
What time does the party start? Doors will open at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 18. We will hang out on the roof until 7 p.m., and then head over to the Sounders match which kicks off at 7:30 p.m.
Where do I pick up my tickets to the Sounders match? If you pre-ordered tickets to the Sounders match through GeekWire, you must pick up your match tickets from us at the pre-game event at Qualtrics prior to 7 p.m.
Do I need bring my printed tickets to get into the party? Nope, we will have your name on file at registration, so just check in by name.
Are tickets still available to the match and pre-game tailgate? Yes, but we have fewer than 20 tickets, so if you want to join us make sure to go here right now to sign up.
Food and beverages: We’ve got an awesome BBQ planned, as well as a fantastic array of beverages. Come hungry, and thirsty!
Can kids attend? Unfortunately, no. This is a 21+ event. Plus, it is a school night — your kids should be getting a good night’s rest.
Schedule: Arrive early! We’ve got big crowd, so make sure to plan accordingly to navigate Pioneer Square on a Sounders’ game day. We will open registration at 4:30 p.m. Sounders execs are scheduled to speak around 6 p.m., along with a surprise guest. By 7 p.m., we will start making our way to the match. Kickoff is 7:30 p.m. Again, if you ordered your match tickets through GeekWire, you must first pick them up at the pre-game event at Qualtrics. (Note: You must arrive no later than 7 p.m. in order to obtain your tickets).
Where is the GeekWire section in the stadium? Section 116 and 117, in the southeast corner of the stadium. Here’s a CenturyLink Field map.
Stadium policies: Make sure you follow all stadium policies, including the strict policies on what type of bags are permitted. More on those policies — including the clear bag policy — here.
Parking: You are on your own. Street parking and surface lots are located near Qualtrics. Public transportation is recommended. It’s a game day, so arrive early.
Thanks to everyone for participating in GeekWire Sounders Day, presented by Qualtrics. And a big thanks to our supporting sponsors: Our official beer sponsor Rainier and our official merchandise partner EVO3 Marketing.
