With its high-end specs and foldable display, the $1,980 Galaxy Fold is an expensive phone. The good news for folks who want a foldable but don’t want to spend that much is that a new report says that the Galaxy Z Flip will have a lower price tag than its predecessor.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip will cost $1,400. That’s according to XDA-Developers‘ Max Weinbach, who adds that the new foldable will likely launch on February 14th.
Today’s report also says that it’s possible that the Galaxy Z Flip will be exclusive to AT&T like the Galaxy Fold before it. There’s a chance that the Galaxy Z Flip may just be a timed exclusive, though, meaning it could hit other carriers after launching at AT&T. It’ll also be available unlocked if you’d rather buy that way.
While $1,400 isn’t exactly cheap, that is a good bit less than the Galaxy Fold’s price tag. It should have a pretty respectable feature set, too, with rumors saying it’ll include a 6.7-inch OLED screen with ultra thin glass, a Snapdragon 855+ processor, and dual 12MP rear cameras. Considering all that, it could be more appealing to folks who are interested in a foldable but passed on the Galaxy Fold.
Weinbach also says that the Galaxy S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra are likely to launch on the first Friday of March, which would be March 6th. The Galaxy S20 Ultra is tipped to cost $1300.
And then there are the Galaxy Buds+, which will reportedly cost $149.99 — $20 more than the original Galaxy Buds — and that they’ll have better Active Noise Isolation but not true noise cancellation.
