Galaxy Z Flip shown folding and unfolding in new video leak

Galaxy Z Flip hands-on video leak

The Galaxy S20 series have been the subject of many more leaks than the Galaxy Z Flip to date, but just days before Samsung’s big event, the Z Flip is catching up to its S20 siblings.

A new video shows the Galaxy Z Flip in action, giving us a clear look at Samsung’s next foldable opening and closing. The short clip shared by Ben Geskin shows the front of the Galaxy Z Flip, complete with a dual camera setup and its 1-inch outer display that’s briefly lit up with the time, date, and battery level.

We also get to briefly see the inner display of the Galaxy Z Flip. It looks to be pretty tall, and most folks will probably need to two-hand it when reaching up to the status bar to check their notifications. Rumors say that the display is a 6.7-inch screen with an ultra-thin glass cover.

Other rumored specs for the Galaxy Z Flip include a Snapdragon 855+ processor, 8GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, and 3300mAh battery. The two outer cameras are said to be 12MP sensors, including a main f/1.8 cam and a secondary f/2.2 ultra-wide sensor with a 123-degree field of view, and there’s reportedly a side-mounted fingerprint reader on the device, too.

The Galaxy Z Flip will reportedly be priced at $1,400.

Samsung’s second foldable features a different form factor than last year’s Galaxy Fold, opening up like a clamshell flip phone rather than like a book that opens up into a tablet. We’re definitely interested in taking the Galaxy Z Flip for a spin and seeing how this clamshell foldable form factor works in day-to-day use — especially for that nostalgic feeling of closing a flip phone to end a call — but that tall screen might be a bit too tall for some.

Now that we’ve gotten a look at the Galaxy Z Flip on video, what do you think of it?
