
Today Google released a new beta build of Android P to its Pixel phones, and now the Essential Phone is getting a new update, too.
Essential has released an Android P Beta 1 update to the Essential Phone. This new update is build PPR1.180510.022 and includes the latest Google Android P code, increased stability, improved adaptive brightness range, and the June 2018 Android security patches.

This update is rolling out now, and if you’re already running the Android P Developer Preview on your Essential Phone, you should get this Android P Beta update over the air. If you’re not yet running Android P on your Essential Phone but you want to give it a try, you’ll need to go here to get started on sideloading the update.
Essential has been fast with software updates, pushing them out within days of Google’s release to Pixel phones, and sometimes even the same day as Google. That has applied with the Android P beta releases, too, and it continues today with this latest Android P build.
