The PlayStation 4 open beta for BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle will launch on May 9 in North America for users who pre-ordered the game digitally, on May 12 for everyone else, and run through May 14, developer Arc System Works announced. An offline demo will be released on the day the open beta ends.
Information about the Switch open beta will follow at a later time.

The Open Beta includes:
- 20 playable characters from across the BlazBlue, Persona 4 Arena, Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late, and RWBY universes.
- Iron Tager
- No 13
- Persona 4 Arena
- Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late
- Casual Lobby mode
- Tactics Mode (Tutorial and Practice Only)
- VS Mode against the CPU
- VS Mode against a second player (available only to digital pre orders on the PlayStation Store)

■ Offline Demo
After the open beta ends, an offline demo will become available to all PlayStation 4 owners for download. Digital PlayStation Store pre orders will be granted access to both the full 20 character beta roster, as well as access to the two-player VS Mode. Non pre-order demos will include four characters, one from each universes represented in the game, and VS Mode against the CPU.
BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle is due out for PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC on May 31 in Japan and Asia, June 5 in North America, and this summer in Europe.
