After launching the KEY2 earlier this year, it looks like a slightly lower-end keyboard-clad BlackBerry is coming.
New images and spec details of the BlackBerry KEY2 LE have leaked out. According to an Android Police source, the KEY2 LE will have a design similar to the standard KEY2, but the keyboard looks closer to the one found on the KEYone. It’s also said that the KEY2 LE’s keyboard may not function as a trackpad like it does on the KEY2.
When it comes to specs, we’re told to expect a Snapdragon 636 processor and 4GB of RAM, down from the Snapdragon 660 and 6GB of RAM on the standard KEY2. The KEY2 LE is also expected to have a 3000mAh battery, which would be smaller than the 3500mAh battery inside the KEY2.
Other rumors specs of the BlackBerry KEY2 LE include a dual rear camera setup with 13MP and 5MP sensors, a 4.5-inch 1620×1080 LCD screen, and 32/64GB of storage.
The BlackBerry KEY2 LE is shaping up to be a more affordable version of the standard KEY2. It’s unclear how much of the KEY2’s $650 price tag could be chopped off with the spec reductions found on the KEY2 LE, but it’d be nice to have a more affordable keyboard-clad smartphone for consumers who want that.
